Following the successful implementation of the first distance learning Solid fuel to Gas Fire Changeover qualification available in the Industry on 1st October 2017, we are pleased to announce a second available intake for the 5th March 2018.
We developed the qualification in-line with the new Managed Learning Program (MLP) criteria under the lOGIC Certification scheme.
Who is it for?
The qualification is aimed at existing solid fuel installers or chimney sweeps wishing to expand their portfolio of work to include installation, service, maintenance and decommissioning of gas fires.
As part of the programme you will also be required to attend three 5-day practical workshops within our County Durham Centre allowing you to consolidate your prior distance learning.
What is not included, but must be undertaken, is supervised workplace experience alongside a qualified Gas Safe engineer. This must be equivalent to 30 days.
Upon successful completion of the Managed Learning Programme you will then undertake a 5-day assessment programme which, on successful completion, will qualify you for the installation, service, maintenance and decommissioning of gas fires and enable you to become a member of Gas Safe.
When is it and how much?
Our second intake will be Monday 5th March 2018 and will again be limited to 10 places. The cost of the qualification is £3000 + VAT. This includes all assessments (and re-assessment’s if needed), all training material, free Logic Domestic Gas Safety Training Manual and tailored learning support by our expert training team throughout the learning programme.

The costs for the qualification does not include accommodation so please bare this in mind if you will require accommodation for your centre-based learning (3 weeks + 1 week final assessment).
